Seriously?!
You gotta be kidding me!

In my neck of the woods, springtime means flowers. Yes, as much as I complain about Georgia in the winter for its lack of winter wonderland weather, I applaud this place in springtime.
Looking down, you see gardens filled with colorful spring flowers. Purple hyacinths, red tulips, yellow jonquils.
But my favorite flowers are the ones I see when I look out and up.
Trees around here really deck out for the spring show.
Flowers, flowers everywhere.

I’ve been obsessed with “nesting” recently. Actually, it would be more accurate to call it RE-feathering my nest. My old nest had runneth over with 20 years of “stuff” and it was high time to pitch & purge. Please tell me I’m not the only one with a PHD in “stuff”. By that, I mean “piled high & deep”.

My friends Ken and Karen Mackenzie are busy these days, as the maple trees have been tapped, the sap has been flowing, and it’s time to fire up the evaporator and get those bottles filled! Nothing tastes like real, pure maple syrup!

The time has finally come for shearing the sheep. Come on over with me to the corrals and let’s see what our shearing operation looks like this year. Bring your muck boots and good humor!

One of the hardest parts of this year’s winter was that it kept so many of us stuck indoors! I really missed my MaryJanesFarm Sisterhood Chapter farmgirls! For our first get-together of 2011, I decided we’d do a daytime event, a luncheon, featuring something easy but hearty. What’s better winter fare than soup? Come join us for our first ever “Soup Swap!”

Hello from the shoreline of “America’s Hometown” in historic Plymouth, Massachusetts. I’m Deb! Your new farmgirl blogger from the BEACH! It’s a dream come true to be here and a pleasure to meet you. I’m just like you and every other gal who’s caught the farmgirl spirit. Not long after discovering MaryJanesFarm magazine I joined the forum (as dandelion house), became a certified farmgirl sister (#1199), and started a new chapter called the Hometown Farmgirls. I’ve been inspired to try new things like writing, growing more organic veggies, and eating healthier. Best of all, I’m learning to romance my inner farmgirl into making her dreams come true one footprint at a time. I’m hopin’ this blog helps keep you sailing starboard towards your BIG farmgirl dreams, too!

I come from the land of sagebrush, silver, sunshine and wild mustangs. It’s been ten years since we moved east, and this wash ashore desert rose is finally feeling at home by the sea. I packed a good-sized helpin’ of western hospitality, so pull up a beach chair and relax. I’ll tell you how I got so far from home.
