Dear Sisters,

We’ve got some catching up to do! Happy Thanksgiving! Happy Winter Solstice! Merry Christmas AND Happy NEW Year! Whew! Gosh, I hope life has been treating you all well and that you’re feeling healthy and happy, warm and cozy, safe and satisfied. Now that winter is here and Christmas has passed I have a confession… I’ve been on somewhat of a holiday hiatus since Thanksgiving. After I dug up the dahlias I sort of went dormant… Just like the garden but, in a good way! Continue reading

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year, Deb! I so loved this post I moved to another state in late autumn and the unpacking, holidays, reorienting all rather overwhelmed me. I love where I’m living now, the move was the result of a 4 year caregiving journey to my beautiful Mom who passed in March. This year certainly had its ups and downs, and a simple Christmas with family was celebrated here. Love your honest heart in all this. Have a blessed and beautiful new year! I’m no longer in New England, but I am by the coast again…in North Carolina
    p.s. Love those puzzles!
    Hugs, Mari

    Right back at you, Mari!
Thank you for your note. I’m so sorry for the loss of your mother. Care giving a parent in their last years has so many challenges, heartaches and blessings all wound into one.
So many things can discombobulate a holiday. Moving is right up there! Sounds like you weathered the move okay and how wonderful that you landed by the coast again! The ocean will help you heal for sure….Hugs and happiness to your in your new home!

For good reasons we will not discuss, I have not been here to visit with you for a couple of months. I have missed you in similar fashion to missing an “in-person” friend. Isn’t that strange? You don’t even know who I am, ha ha ha. Anyhow, just know that it is worth a lot to a huge number of us who wait to enjoy your next post (and the one after that). I am an amateur photographer and really enjoy your composition and color balance results in the photos you share!…Sending best wishes for a wonderful, healthy 2019 for you and your family.

    • Deb Bosworth says:

Welcome back, Mary. I’m happy to hear from you. Your kind words washed over me like a warm blanket today. Thank you. That’s great you enjoy photography too! It’s such a fun creative pursuit.
Happy New Year and as always, thank you for reading. 🙂

I think a lot of people went simple this Christmas! There is always plenty of food and family but the gift giving has gotten so out of hand. We don’t do many gifts at all. We just enjoy the time together and laughter is the best gift. Have a peaceful New Year and dream of Spring!!

    • Deb Bosworth says:

      Hi Cheryl,
I think so too. Much less on the gift giving and more concentrating on just enjoying time together. We enjoyed some long phone conversations with distant family members as well and those were great gifts as well. Sending Happy New Year wishes to you and yours and thanks so much for your note! xo Deb

    Happy New Year, Deb!
I so enjoy all your blogs, and especially was touched about how you slowed your mind, body, and soul during the Christmas season.
I too, was craving a simple Christmas this year, and a time of reflection and rest.
    It was GOOD.
