I can’t believe this will be the 3rd YOU Challenge!! If you did it before, then you know how this works. If not, I’ll tell you all you need to know. The most important thing is that you make decision, right now, right this very minute, to do this for YOU. You, My Friend, deserve it. You need it. It is time to give yourself a little loving, a little attention, a little pick-me-up.
And you know what it is?
After 16 years of being a professional domestic engineer, (homemaker) I’ve joined the outside work force once again and I am loving it! At first, I didn’t like the idea very much mostly because it marks the end of a very special chapter in my life. Our youngest turned 18 this year and suddenly this stay at home mom was out of a job. I’ll admit there have been more than a few tears during this transition, but the joy of seeing our young adult children finding their way in the world and meeting their adult responsibilities helps to ease the sadness I was feeling. I just bet some of my farmgirl pals can relate. While we don’t have an empty nest yet, they certainly don’t need mamma like they used to! Have you guessed what I’m doing for work yet? Come on in and see if you’re right! Also, be sure to stay with me till the bottom of this post. I’m announcing our winner of the Fluffy Layers Egg Collecting Apron Giveaway! Continue reading
It’s been awhile Farmgirl sisters…Time for some catch up, let’s get to it:
It was the best of times. It was the worst of times. That pretty much sums up parenthood, right? I’ve come up with another summation: childcare and coffee. That’s what my days have been made of for the last couple of months (and laundry…piles and piles of it! Thank you washing machine!). Like many aspects of parenting, just as we are getting used to this phase it shifts as we emerge out of Opal’s newborn days.
She’s getting to be a big girl! #MNrepresent
One of my goals for this past winter was to make a few quilts. It was a big goal for me and I wrote about it here and issued a challenge to all you readers! I asked you to share pictures and even a little quilting story and I’m so happy to be able to follow up today with all that was shared with me.

If you’re like me, you can’t wait to get outside and get the garden growin’! Unfortunately, it will be a few more weeks in my area before we can really get gardening outside. That’s okay – we can garden indoors!
