VIP Vintage ” COWGIRL” Fashion Show

080-001 edit

Dear Sisters,

Welcome to Part 2 of ” our ” Fall Junkin’ Junket! When we parted ways last time we’d made our way through most of the fabulous booths at The Vintage Bazaar in Salisbury, MA. and The VIP Vintage Fashion Show was about to start! If you missed Part 1, Click here to catch up! Come on! Let’s go!

The Vintage Bazaar always has a VIP afternoon event with a FEATURED special guest. This year, Cari Cucksey from the popular HGTV show RE-Purposed was there to meet and greet guests as they arrived and to enjoy the show along with the rest of us VIP’rs.

Me, Cari, and Melissa

Me, Cari, and Melissa

Cari was just the sweetest and so down to earth… A farmgirl at heart for sure! Melissa and I hogged her attention for most of the event, only letting her go for a few photo ops! Both of these ” GIRL GENIUSES” will be at the Country Living Fair in Atlanta Georgia this month. Cari has been traveling the country introducing her new paint line, Tint and Tinctures, and Melissa is giving a lecture on keeping backyard chickens and launching her FIRST book, A Kids’ Guide to Keeping Backyard Chickens.

Before we go inside, let me set the VIP stage for you just a little. Off to the right of the entrance to the greenhouse is a wet bar where apple cider and rum/cider drinks are being served. To the left of the room, a table is piled high with delicious cold sandwiches, fresh-baked breads, cheese and fruit. YUM! There are ten pub height round tables draped in simple white tablecloth’s, five on each side staggered with no seating so there’s plenty of space to move about and take photos. In the left hand corner of the front of the greenhouse there’s a live one man band playing country music. The VIP vibe is VERY laid back and you can feel the excitement in the air as people gather and wait for the show to begin. Soon Devon, the founder of The Vintage Bazaar comes in and takes the microphone. She graciously thanks her team for all their hard work and creativity then tells us to get ready to see some spectacular models, all who will be swathed in a mix of  vintage “cowgirl ” clothing from the Victorian era through the 1920’s. She thanks everyone for coming and introduces the first model!

Vintage cowgirl PERFECTION! Except for MaryJane, of course! 😉

098-001

She looks just like a vintage cowgirl poster!

142-001This model was simply stunning. Her red hair was quaffed in the cutest pixie style which complimented her orange outfit to a tee. One thing I wasn’t prepared for was how the models search out a camera to pose for while they’re walking down the runway. I’m used to taking photos of flowers, dogs and ” stuff ” and the occasional shot of our kids when I can get them to cooperate!

Get a load of that hat and the accessories!

Love this Steam-Punk cowgirl!

And the dame from the 1920’s was all jazzed up in an electric blue beaded number with cowgirl swag draped all over her from the fringe on her leather jacket to the tip of her

well-worn cowgirls boots!

Each and every model wowed the crowd with their engaging personalities. They were clearly having a hay ho time playing dress-up with the House of Finding’s eclectic collection of vintage clothing. But, none of us were prepared for the last model.

Dum dum de-dum! Here comes the bride! And, what a picture she was!

166 edit

I wish you could have heard the oohs and ahhs as she walked down the runway!

169 edit

There wasn’t a dry eye in the greenhouse! I got all choked up because she reminded me of my own Victorian wedding. The lace draped over her ivory white cowgirl hat looked wedding-day dreamy with the sun streaming in.

171

The only thing missing was a handsome cowboy groom waiting at the end of the runway for his lovely bride!

173

At the end of the show the owner of the House of Findings started the finale by escorting the bride back down the runway with the rest of the ” cowgirls” in tow.

Here they come!

187-002

Ah. Wasn’t that fun and just so refreshing? I loved every minute of it and I hope you did too! Did you have a favorite model? Who? Who?

Until our next shoreline visit~ Cowgirl Up!

BEACH BLESSINGS and much love,

Deb # 1199
